Alisson Becker starts for Liverpool as they host Arsenal in the Premier League at Anfield – but there’s no place in the squad for Thiago Alcantara.

Both players had been doubts for this evening’s game after missing training across the weekend but Brazil No.1 Alisson is fit enough to start against the Gunners.

However, new signing Thiago misses out all together as Joe Gomez returns to the team after an injury kept him out of last week’s 2-0 win over Chelsea.

That means Fabinho is restored to midfield alongside Naby Keita and Gini Wijnaldum with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all starting against Mikel Arteta’s men.

New signing Diogo Jota is once more on the bench after making his debut as a second-half substitute in Thursday night’s 7-2 win over Lincoln in the Carabao Cup.

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Keita; Salah, Mane, Firmino.

Subs: Adrian, Milner, Jones, Minamino, Jota, Origi, Williams.
